Disciples of Jesus & Stewards of Creation
Joy is one characteristic of our gathering on the Lord's Day here at St Luke - so that our joy is not fragile, dependent on variable external circumstances - the Lord invites us to find our joy in putting our confidence in Him and in the Father's love, and in doing his will.

Keeping the Lord's Day by resting, praying, playing the whole day long, with family and friends, is God's remedy to our fears, anxieties, and troubles over TIME, so that we can enjoy time as his gift.

Putting our TALENTS at the service of others with freedom, generosity, and gladness, is God's remedy to the anguish we can have, feeling our talents as a burden with people constantly hounding us to help them.

Even wealthy, powerful, and influential people can feel they never have enough, and by excessive accumulating and insufficient sharing, can actually deprive others from enjoying the material blessings God the Creator has put on planet Earth for all to benefit, live, and enjoy. Whether wealthy, comfortable, or poor, it is fear and insecurity that cause us to suffer anguish over work, career, money, property, investments, bills, and so on...

God's remedy is for us to identify among all the money and material goods we have, our TREASURE, the "holy portion" that is for God and to freely, gratefully, and gladly give it back to Him. God's Word in the Bible suggests that it is blessed to give to God for his work on Earth - to his Church and other charities - 10 %. We can set our sights on this worthy goal, and with the help of God's grace, take humble, grateful steps toward it.
